Insurance has been part of Colin’s life long before he officially joined Smith & Thomas Insurance. Growing up in Lakeland, Florida around the family agency gave him an early, firsthand look at the insurance business, and today he combines that experience with professional licensing, a background in marketing, and a focus on growing the agency into its next chapter.
Colin began helping with Smith & Thomas Insurance as a high school student, working behind the scenes and assisting with client outreach, including contacting customers about vehicles, boats, and other insurance needs. Over the years, he continued to work with the agency periodically, including assisting with renewals and client service before joining Smith & Thomas full-time in 2026.
Today, Colin is a licensed Florida 2-20 General Lines Insurance Agent and is involved in the day-to-day operation and growth of Smith & Thomas Insurance. In addition to serving Florida clients, Colin holds a Georgia non-resident insurance license and is leading the agency’s expansion into the Georgia market, helping bring Smith & Thomas’ independent insurance model to a new state.
His experience spans personal and commercial insurance, with particular interest in helping clients navigate coverage that can be easy to overlook or difficult to understand. As a classic car owner and lover of historic homes himself, Colin is actively helping the agency expand its offerings for these unique audiences.
